The first few sentences really caught my attention. I few times my mind had drifted off to somewhere different but, I got back to focusing and reading through. I really like a lot of the word choices like "epiphany". Also, the imagery. I could really picture the ladder on the side of the house. I also really enjoyed the little backstory or detail on how the ladder got there. I feel like a lot of people can and will relate to your post.
